| The term ceramics comes from the Greek word 'Keramos' that means clay. To make ceramics means to paste clay with water so as to obtain an object in clay in the plastic state, and then to kiln-dry it. After the baking, the ceramics assume the characteristic red colour. Poor art made of ordinary materials, the ceramic has pre-historical origins. With this technique famous artists have created many objects of common use and many art works. Thanks to the continuous researches about the various clay and various chemical compounds of pigments used in the ceramics, today we are able to use a variety of decorative techniques and every artist elaborates single technique according to his own taste. |
